Ashmole needed to maximise its limited playground space, so APES came up with a design to exploit previously dead space around and among its trees.

We created a scramble net and monkey hoops area, two towers and a bridge with firemen’s poles, and installed a small boat, Rosie, a Dauntless-class vessel sourced from Hollow Shore Boat Yard in Haversham, Kent. We also developed a new outdoor classroom space that doubles up as a stage for performances in good weather.

The kids love the structures and the staff are thrilled with the amount of space created and the concomitant reduction in play-time incidents.
