Columbia Primary School

London Borough of Tower Hamlets

Another successful collaboration with Erect Architecture - an award-winning practice with expertise in leisure, culture and education - three separate play areas were built on the school site. It is a classic example of how providing primary school kids with challenging play equipment leads to a drop in playground incidents: the children are now meaningfully occupied, with more to do and more space to play on multiple levels.

The structures feature bespoke organic formations, including a slide, swinging elements and various climbing nets - multiple spaces for kids to create temporary camps and rooms. The climbing structures are designed to improve dexterity, balance and upper-body strength.
